Clermont
Clermont is located in Lake County west of Orlando
between Orlando and Brooksville along Highway 50 near Lake Apopka. This community is also
located 25 miles Northwest of Walt Disney World. Clermont is part of the Orlando, Florida
metro area.
Clermont is one of the few Florida counties
that has rolling hills. Much of central Florida is of rather flat terrain. Clermont is
also known for its many fresh water lakes and canals.
Clermont has also been adopted as a host
site for Ironman Triathlons, also the new Rails to Trails bike trail which extends from
Clermont to Ocoee.
It is the Lakeridge Winery and Vineyards that opened its doors in 1988 that draws
thousands to the area each year. In addition to their ongoing tours and wine tastings,
Lakeridge also hosts musical events such as "Jazz on the Vineyard Green."
