Sahuarita (saw wah ree ta)
is known for its peace and natural beauty from the time primitive Hohokam Tribes first
settled in the fertile river valley, Sahuarita is now preparing for tomorrow.
Surrounded by expansive views of desert vegetation and majestic mountains, Sahuarita is
rediscovered every day by people who are seeking a community that is convenient,
consistent and complete. A community that complements the lifestyles of all
generations.
The Town of Sahuarita was established in 1994 and a team of experienced and dedicated
individuals was assembled under the direction of a Town Council. Their role is to
keep alive the traditions of the past and to carry out the vision of today's residents.
These are the cornerstones of the Town of Sahuarita - values that make it unique
among contemporary towns. A family-oriented community with special planned areas for
those of their valued elders who choose this style of life. The area has always been
a pleasant place for people to put down roots.
The booming town of Sahuarita, located
immediately north of Green Valley, passed 7,000 in population in 2003, more than doubling
the population figure of 3,242 it earned in the 2000 Census.
With developing shopping in a major
shopping area, excellent schools in the Sahuarita Unified School District and being close
to Tucson for work and play, it presents an ideal spot for those who would enjoy the
desert lifestyle of the Southwest.
It is a park-rich community with Sahuarita
Lake Park, Anamax Park (soon to be expanded by about 22 acres) and with additional parks
planned as they grow. Plenty of space for fishing, a summer swim program, Pop Warner
football, children and adult softball, baseball and with the new addition to Anamax Park,
soccer and other activities yet to be planned.
There are four public courses within 10
miles and one planned for within the town itself. Also, private courses are
available in the area if you prefer country club golfing.
Sahuarita is truly a "Gem of the
Desert," with the good life in mind for your family and the grandparents. Walk
and bike throughout the town and enjoy the warm friendly people and shop owners. You will
like it there.
